Weiqing Tang, Ph.D., Secretary – General of the China Computer Federation, Researcher and Doctoral Supervisor at the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 1980 to 1990, he pursued his bachelor’s degree in Software and Master’s degree in CAD in the Computer School of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, and taught at the university after graduation. From 1990 to 1993, he pursued a doctorate in Computer Graphics at the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; from 1993 to 1995, he did post – doctoral work in the Department of Aeronautical and Astronautical Manufacturing Engineering at Beihang University. After July 1995, he mainly worked at the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Once served as Deputy Director of the CAD Open Laboratory, Deputy General Manager of the Second Department of the Institute of Computing Technology, Chairman of Beijing Zhongke Fulong Computer Technology Co., Ltd., etc., and was promoted to Researcher in 1997.
In terms of scientific research, in the middle and late 1980s, he was mainly engaged in the research of mechanical CAD software and scientific computing visualization. Since 1995, he has been mainly engaged in the research and development of engineering CAD software. He presided over the development of a series of software for process plant design and construction (PDSOFT, including more than 20 products). At the same time, he also actively participated in national – level project research and development and consulting work. During years of work, he has published or co – published more than 100 papers, won one second – prize of the National Technological Invention Award, one third – prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one first – prize of the Ministerial Technological Invention Award, three second – prizes and one third – prize of the Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Award, and the second – prize of the Young Scientist Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. His main research direction is industrial intelligence, and he conducts research work around the digitalization, visualization, and intelligence of the process industry.
